Animator

An animator is a creative professional who brings static images, characters, and scenes to life through movement. Using a combination of artistic skill and technical tools, animators create motion that tells a story, expresses emotion, or explains a concept. This can range from cartoons and video games to advertising, films, and educational content.

There are different types of animators, each working in various styles and formats. Some specialise in 2D animation, drawing frame by frame to simulate motion, while others work with 3D animation, using software to model and animate characters in a virtual space. Others focus on stop-motion, motion graphics, or visual effects (VFX).

Animators often work as part of a team that includes writers, designers, directors, and sound engineers. They use tools like Adobe After Effects, Toon Boom, Blender, or Maya, depending on the project. But beyond the software, the heart of animation lies in storytelling, timing, and understanding how to express ideas visually.

In short, animators make the impossible feel real—and the real feel magical.
